Dear colleagues,
at the end of January, the International Plant Fair (IPM) in Essen/Germany is normally the annual meeting point of the global horticulture industry. Already for the second time this event could not take place. We miss the possibilities to meet and exchange ideas! This is a reason for us to gather some information and news from all over the world.
You will find in the first issue of DEGA international:
Some reports from colleagues in five countries: From Ethiopia, Great Britain, Canada, Ukraine and the Netherlands. We are saddened that two of these countries are affected by war. We pray for peace! Please understand if I do not say more about this today - words of concern cannot bring peace. Our thoughts are with our friends in Ukraine.
Ann Jennen from the international organization Fleuroselect tells us in an interview how growers in the horticultural sector experienced the time of the pandemic.
And finally, we have compiled a whole range of interesting news from the horticultural sector for DEGA international. The industry is innovative and forward-looking.
To conclude this issue, you could take a look at the interesting Belgian horticulture sector. The VLAM organization has visited several dynamic farms there. As a reader, you can benefit from this.
I am very much looking forward to your feedback on this first issue of DEGA international and what suggestions you have for the future! Please feel free to send us information, advice and also your opinion on anything of importance to our industry at any time.
With best regards,
Christoph Killgus
